This site will be periodically updated with a new pick based upon the financial and economic happenings of the day. The performance of these hypotheses will be tracked and reported.

Current Theory

As we head into fall dry bulk shipping should begin to recover the ground that it has lost over the last couple months. We already have several stocks from this area, but I believe that it would be beneficial to add one more. Top Ships Inc. (TOPS) is a relatively small organization with a great deal of potential. I see stock as nearing what will be a 52 week low a year from now. At 1.15, TOPS is a bargain if you look several years (if not several months) down the line.

Team Thoughts

Investment Theories will be taking a slightly different strategy this fall. We believe that the current portfolio is strong and making daily changes will simply weaken its overall performance. As such, picks will no longer be issued on a daily basis. The portfolio will be increased to 20 funds at which point it will be held constant (we’ll recommend a sell with every new add, thus, the twenty funds in the portfolio will be what we believe to be the best 20 available at their current price).
